A soil test is the difference between feeding the crop and feeding the air. Every ₹1 spent on soil testing can save 3–5 times that in wasted fertiliser. It also reveals hidden problems — acidity, salinity, or micronutrient shortages — before they cost you a yield.
Match the report's 'low/medium/high' rating with crop-specific requirements. If the report says low zinc, apply zinc — most Indian soils still test low in zinc and boron, yet these drive flowering and fruit set.
Sampling matters: take soil from a uniform area, from the top 15 cm, avoiding corners, bunds, and spots where manure was piled. Sample the same time every year for comparable results.
