Best Time to Spray: Timing Rules that Double Efficacy

Timing decides whether a spray protects or evaporates. These rules apply to every foliar application, natural or otherwise.

  • Spray when the canopy is young and growing — not over-wintered and hard
  • Spray early morning or late evening, never at noon
  • Avoid spraying into wind above 10 km/h or into upcoming rain
  • Spray at the first sign of the problem, not at the last

Judge coverage, not speed. A proper spray wets both leaf surfaces — the underside is where most pests and spores live. Slow down, adjust nozzles, and check the leaves after every spray.
